Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 31, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Amy Ewing ("Amy," "we," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit amyewingbooks.com (the "Site"). We respect your privacy and aim to handle personal information responsibly.
By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information when you interact with the Site:
Contact inquiries: If you email us or use a contact form, we receive the information you send — typically your email address, name, and message content.
Preorder gift claims: If you preordered The Plus-One List and submit our preorder gift form, we collect your name, email address, shipping address, optional social media handle, preorder retailer information, newsletter preference, and a copy of your preorder receipt. This information is used only to verify your preorder and send your preorder gift. We may also keep operational server logs of these submissions for fulfillment and troubleshooting. If you opt in to the newsletter on the form, we add your email to our Mailchimp audience (tagged as a Plus-One List preorder gift claim) so we can send newsletter updates.
Technical data: Like most websites, our hosting and infrastructure may automatically log information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring pages, and general usage data. Analytics and advertising tools described below may also collect technical and usage information.
We do not sell your personal information.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Site, respond to your inquiries, verify eligible preorder gift claims, fulfill preorder gifts, measure traffic and engagement, and (where advertising tools are used) understand the effectiveness of our marketing.
We do not use your information for purposes materially different from those described here without notifying you.
Cookies and Analytics
The Site may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to support basic functionality, understand how visitors use the Site, and measure advertising performance.
We use Google Analytics to help us understand traffic and usage patterns (for example, pages visited and approximate location derived from IP address).
We also use the Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. The Meta Pixel helps us measure visits to the Site, understand how people interact with our pages after seeing or clicking Meta ads, and improve the relevance of advertising on Meta platforms (including Facebook and Instagram). Meta may collect or receive information such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and cookie or device identifiers, and may combine that information with other data it holds about you according to Meta's own policies.
You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you may also manage Meta ad preferences through your Meta account settings. Disabling cookies or related technologies may affect how some parts of the Site work and may limit our ability to measure marketing performance.
Third-Party Links and Services
The Site includes links to external websites and services, including book retailers (such as publishers and online booksellers), social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest), and other third-party sites.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to those external sites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.
Contact and preorder claim features may rely on our hosting provider, email delivery services, or security tools (such as Cloudflare Turnstile bot protection). When those services are in use, they may process your information on our behalf according to their own terms and privacy policies.
How We Share Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the Site (such as hosting, email delivery, analytics providers, or advertising platforms), when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Amy, visitors, or others.
Service providers are expected to use your information only as needed to perform services for us. Analytics and advertising partners such as Google and Meta process data under their own privacy policies when their tools are active on the Site.
Children's Privacy
Amy Ewing writes books for young adult and adult readers. The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise their children's online activity.
Your Choices
You may contact us to ask questions about the information we hold or to request correction or deletion where applicable.
For advertising on Meta platforms, you can adjust ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account and review Meta's privacy resources linked below.
Data Security
Preorder claim information is transmitted securely to us by email for verification and fulfillment. We may also keep operational server logs of claim submissions (including contact details and request metadata) so we can review and fulfill gifts and diagnose form problems. These logs are stored outside the public website and are not used for marketing.
We take reasonable measures to protect information transmitted through the Site. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Addendum: Cloudflare Turnstile
The preorder gift claim form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help protect against automated abuse. When you complete the security check, Cloudflare may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser signals, and interaction data needed to verify that you are a human visitor.
Addendum: Meta Pixel
The Site uses the Meta Pixel to measure Site visits and the performance of ads on Meta platforms (including Facebook and Instagram). When the Pixel runs, Meta may receive information about your browser, device, and interactions with the Site, which Meta may use as described in its own privacy policy and terms.
